Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has got TDMA running with mailscanner so we get the following:

Mail comes in
Mail gets MailScannered
Mail with high scorring spam gets sent to TDMA
TDMA send a request for spammer to reply
If spammer replies, deliver the mail.

I'm wantin this because i'm getting a few false negatives and i'd like to give those people the chance to actually get their email through without just dropping it.

Cheers
Barry.

You probably don't mean TDMA; to quote webopedia:
Short for Time Division Multiple Access, a technology for delivering digital wireless service using time-division multiplexing (TDM). TDMA works by dividing a radio frequency into time slots and then allocating slots to multiple calls. In this way, a single frequency can support multiple, simultaneous data channels. TDMA is used by the GSM digital cellular system.
You probably mean TMDA.

There's a great reason to not use TMDA here; I can't quote it because the language is too colorful :) .

Just this past week I blocked two servers using TMDA with one of the major blocklists because they continue to send me TMDA messages.

Why? Because I never sent them anything. They responded to spam sent that forged one of my domains. So they're the spammers.

Most blocklists already block the mail servers at the major TMDA companies, for just this reason.

If you use TMDA everyone who uses a form-to-email script on your server will stop getting their filled out forms. Why? Because the forms send email from the email address of the person who fills out the script. And that person receives a TMDA message. Not knowing why s/he gets it, s/he doesn't bother to reply.
