Hello

I get dedicated box with DA few days ago. Ask my hoster to setup f**.org as main domain and setup ns1.f**.org and ns2.f**.org nameservers.

Now, when i login into my DA, go > User Level and view

Code:
admin	root	1.25 / unlimited	20929.8 / unlimited	0 / unlimited	No	208.***.**.**

w/o any domain !

create Reseller, add domains under this reseller .. everything is ok. but still problem with main domain. and don't know how to change it

in this folder /home/admin/domains/ there isn't any main domain./ /// just default/suspended/sharedip/ .

any advice ?

The admin does not need any domain under him unless you specifically set one up. For eg, we dont have a single domain under the admin account.

Same here. The admin account has an inconsistent path, and so on, so we don't use it.

Have you seen this?

I believe that the first step will help you setup the main domain and you may need to follow the rest to add any nameservers.

Hope this helps.

1. Sign into your control panel at http://<server ip>:2222 as the admin user.

2. Switch to the User panel (link is near the top right of screen)

3. Click the "Add Another Domain" text link.

4. Enter your domain name into the box and click Submit.

Go to USer panel, . no listed domains [No Data to Show], tring to add domain

Cannot Create Domain

Details

Domain already exists

As i said, hoster try to add domain (during installation), but i don't know why, domain isn't setuped properly.

OK. i'm agree don't use domain in admin account, {btw on another my host i have setuped domain as main domain for admin}, but first of all i need to delete this domain, to setup it from another reseller account.

Unfortunately i cann't setup this domain properly and it's now DOWN and cann't delete this domain from "admin" account to setup in another account.

so what to do ?

any advice will be appreciated !

Click on the User Level link, Domain Setup, then put a tick mark next to the domain to delete and click the Delete button.

Be sure to backup before doing this. :)

as i said before , there isn't any domain setuped in user level. so i cann't delete anything, even if i want it more :-)

and cann't add that domain (main domain) as -> Domain already exists

I guess I'm not understanding the problem then. As to the User Level account, just forget about it then. Since there are no domains, there's nothing to delete. As to adding a domain (I assume you mean under the Reseller Level), I cannot see why you'd have a problem adding it if it does not exist already?

as because domain exist in system, but doesn't properly setuped.

that's why DA check that this domain is installed, but with wrong settings, that's why it don't viewable from DA and even don't know, what are paths for this domain root folder (suspend that they aren't)

Generally if you can't add a domain, there's already a zone file for it.

First thing check to make sure your domain name and your hostname aren't the same. If they are, change the hostname to something else. For example if the domainname and hostname are both example.com, change the hostname to host.example.com.

Then make sure there's no DNS zone file for example.com. If there is, delete it.

Then you should be able to create the domain name under a different reseller.

find example.db file in var/named delete it, reboot server and try to add this domain.

domain already exist :-(

That's not the right place to delete it. It needs to be deleted in the DirectAdmin control panel.

Or you can delete the line referring to it in /etc/named.conf and restart named.

I have exactly the same problem ...

alexo did you find a solution ?
