I guess it's not limited... but still you'd better ask John.
Check it on your side and compare time which it takes to add a new record in DNS. How much comfortable will it be to wait for 1? 5? 15? 30? 60? seconds to get a page reloaded after you submited a new record into a DNS zone?
So if your server waits too long while communicating with other server you will need to remove slow servers or decrease a number of them.
