Message System Select Bug

Hello everyone,
I honestly prefer the old 'clear messages' feature, as it felt more reliable and user-friendly than the new messaging system. However, personal preferences aside, I've noticed a distinct bug in this recent update.
Here is a screen recording demonstrating the issue:

Basically, if you make a selection and then run a search, the system holds onto your previous selection. This can easily result in accidental deletions. I almost made this mistake myself, but fortunately, I caught the total message count on the deletion warning just in time.

Also, now that you have pagination at the bottom... you have to

• select everything
• go to the bottom
• change page
• go back to the top
• select everything
• go to the bottom
• ...

(repeat if you have hundreds of items)

At least ... make sure that clicking on the pagination page does a "to-top"
