Hi,

Is it possible to migrate email accounts with data from smatermail to directadmin/exim?
appreciate any help/responses.

thanks!

Do you mean Smartermail for Windows?

You'd have to create the mail accounts on DirectAdmin. After that it depends on whether Smartermail by default saves mail in Maildir format, or if you can export it to Maildir format.

If so, you can actually move individual folders. Probably time consuming.

If not you can, for each individual user, use Imap (if Smartermail supports Imap), on a local machine.

These instructions, while specific to a particular migration at the University of Virginia, generally explain the procedure.

Just wonder why you migrate from the Smartermail to DA?
The features of smartermail is amazing compare with the ms exchange.

If your user used to see ajax webmail, than they must be dissapoint when migrate to exim/DA mail server.

Perhaps they have people interested in their hosting services if they can migrate the email data. There are many reasons they could be migrating. :)
