Mime types and Quicktime?

Hi everyone

I have a website with small mp3 on it

When someone clicks them to open - Quicktime starts automatically

I looked into this and it is related to something called "Mime Types"

Is there any way to allow when someone click on one of the mp3
to allow their default media player i.e. Winamp / Windows Media Player etc to play the file??


Is this a Direct Admin problem or is it my site builder - Site Zen?

On my linux box I get a blank (grey, actually) screen and the mp3 just plays using the default program for my system.

My guess is that it's up to the local browser to decide what to do with the file and most of your visitors will have set up their system for their preferred way of playing MP3s and really don't want you to mess with that.

You can always include instructions for visitors to right click on the file name to save it.

On my laptop, running M$WxpSP2, even if I do a regular left-click, I get a popup asking me if I want to play the file with the selected player, or save it.
