missing A record?

Has anyone experienced a suddenly dropped A record in DA?

I have a client whose email stopped working. When I look at the dns, there was no longer an A record for "mail". The user restored his site from a backup yesterday. Could this be the problem?

I could not find it in the forum which is why I posted my request. I see it in the update. I thought this was just related to admin or reseller restores?
