moving domains

I have a client who changed the name of their business and wants his domain name to reflect this, but also wants to keep his old domain name as a pointer. (Ex: olddomain.com -> newdomain.com)

If I simply add the new domain as a pointer, the new domain will resolve to the old domain. I want the reverse. I don't see a way to replace the actual domain.

So is the solution to create a new account and make the old domain a domain pointer to that account? If that's the case how would I move the email?

Recent versions of DA allow the user to rename his domain, but another way to do it is to create a pointer as an alias, in which case both domain names would work for email, browsers, etc.
