Hi

I have problem.
I am migrating one VHCS2 server to DirectAdmin server. All accounts are again created etc. But now is one last problem.
One costumer has around 600MB old e-mails and he want all their back to new server.
And here is now my problem - how to transfer these e-mails to new server.
Booth servers using Uebimiau webmail solutions. But coping from one server all e-mail folders to new server webmail folder (/var/www/html/webmail/tmp/user...) - this doesn't work. We can't see these e-mails at DirectAdmin server webmail.

So - can someone give advice, how to transfer old e-mails to new server.

If Uebimiau has a forum or list you might want to ask them as it is more closely related to Uebimiau than to DirectAdmin.

Its not necessary to be from Uebimiau to Uebimiau.
And I hope, that some one has some experience with this task - howto move e-mails from one server to other.

If they've saved emails in folders under Uebimiau, then only Uebimiau will be able to read those folders, as Uebimiau uses it's own directory structure.

If Uebimiau users have only used email in the main emailbox and haven't created any other boxes, the mail is saved only in the inbox, which can be read by any of the other webmail programs DirectAdmin installs.

If both servers use mbox format, then you can simply append the contents from the old mbox mail file to the file on the new server, being careful to not change the username or permission of the file on the new server.

If you use Maildir/Dovecot then you can backup only the site email and restore it to the new server. Then delete all the files that begin with either Dovecot or dovecot in each user's Maildir directory structure.

Note that I'm not responsible if you destroy anything following advice/suggestions I give on these forums. If you'd like a guarantee please contact me by email (see my email address in my sig) and hire me :).
