Im a customer at a web hotel, which uses DirectAdmin.

I used to be able to login to control panel [mywebsite:2222], browse to a selected mp3 file, and then play it in WMP by clicking on it. Im the author of the file.

Somewhere over the last weeks/months something happened.

Im no longer able to play the files; WMP opens correctly but then gives the infamous "Error: C00D1199" (codec issue) though this is definitely not a codec issue!
The problem persists on several PC's. All Windows 7.

The files play correctly in Quicktime. The file playes correctly in WMP by right click -> save as. File plays from outside DirectAdmin, link in eg. a mail.
But streaming the file from WITHIN DirectAdmin controlpanel to WMP does not work.

Any advice for the admin ?!

Sorry it took so long to get your post approved. I've removed your link because it was keeping your post moderated. But I tried it first, and it works fine on my linux desktop system running Amarok, so if you can't click on it and hear it, then the problem is most likely on your destination end, not on the server.

Of course I don't know with certainty because I'm using apache, and not DirectAdmin to serve the file.

So the first question to ask you is whether or not you can hear it from a website link served by apache and not by DirectAdmin.

If it works when served by apache but not when served by DirectAdmin, then it's a good question to bring to the attention of DirectAdmin support, though I don't think there's much of a case, as DirectAdmin is a control panel, not a music server :).
