Multiple domains: How to select one to build website?

Hi,
I'm new to DirectAdmin. My host transitioned one of my two websites at their end from CPanel to DirectAdmin. Not sure how they configured it but I can access the backend of my first site by typing my domain name/admin. I have since added a second domain to DirectAdmin and now want to start building the website via Softaculous. I notice that on the top right-hand side, a drop-down, option that list my two domains.

Questions:
1. By selecting this option, is this all I need to do to setup Softaculous on my second domain?
2. Would it be a good idea to back-up my first website that already exist?

1.) Yes you can install your app via Softaculous that way. Softaculous will also show the correct domain name if things are correct.
2.) Making a backup is always a good choice. Should not be needed now, but just to be sure you ca nalways create one. You can do it from within DA.

You can also see this if you login with FTP. the file structure in Directadmin is fairly easy.
/home/username/domains/
in this directory you will see your domains like:
domain1.com
otherdomain.org
each has it's own public_html directory and so on.
However, things like a mysql database is per account so they can be used on both domains.
