Hello everyone,

I have 2 nics.
I have two ipadresses.
Let say:
eth0: 1.2.3.4
eth1: 5.6.7.8
My eth0 is going good.
but i need to add nic eth1 to ipadress list.
Both are outside.
Is this possible?

Greetz,

Michaël Jonkers

Yes, but you'll have to do it manually, as DirectAdmin only adds IP#s to eth9.

Hello jeff,

Is there a manual for?
Or what i have to add.
Because i can not find it on the forum or google.

Greetz,

Michaël Jonkers

You can bring up a network bridge and play around with the configuration files if you must, but that's not recommended if you don't exactly know to explain your goal in this setup.

are both eth0 & eth1 are related to the same network as eth0?

what is the point of using two of them at once?

The network paths are different.
so if network a fails then you have a second network whats online.

Never did it, so I never looked into the DirectAdmin end of it. From the OS end, just follow your OS instructions for adding IP#s.

Hello jeff,

Is it possible to add eth1 to de complete usage stats?
De ip's are now correct.

Michaël

if your hosting in a good data center the change of that network being down is like 1 on the 100.000.00 (Except: Maintenance, Hardware fails. etc)

Is that your opinion or did you actually do the math? :D

If you're using two different paths out of your datacenter, this resolves the issue of the local backhoe breaking the wire. It all depends on how many nines you need to offer. We used to offer this (never on DirectAdmin) but after four years of never needing it, we stopped, as it drastically limits your datacenter choices to the very most expensive ones, and complicates your routing, bgp, etc.
