Nameservers all of a sudden don´t work

Hi there,

I got 2 Servers, that I administer by DA. Now all of a sudden both of them stopped having their nameservers working.

Now when I look at DA services it seems that BIND is running and working, but obviously it doesn´t. I already tried reloading, restarting BIND as well as rebooting the whole server which didn´t help. Despite of that I didn´t do any changements in the DNS settings, still obviously they don´t work. Additionally to that it seems as if some of the IPs would not be accessible any more by SSH, while others are. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Or would you have tips what to do to find the error?

It is somehow difficult to say what or where the problem is exactly without looking into your server. Check the entries in /etc/resolv.conf and make sure your resolver work. I also suggest you run DNSreport.com on your domain(s) and see what you get.

thx for your input found the error: I obviously dedicated the IP that was meant to be kept free for broadcast to my root server... that caused errors in DNS resolvement while BIND was up and running...
