Someone had got into my DirectAdmin

I have a web programmer who found out that someone had gotten into my DirectAdmin and changed htaccess, myphpadmin, FTP and MySql. I can't imagine how this was done. Please advise how it could have been compromised. Also, he fixed the problem and we are back up.

Also, I would like to get quotes on anyone who would like to do direct admin management for us on a monthly basis. Please email me your monthly fee.

well u should have a log of each admin that log into directadmin, i made a script that email me everytime someone make a root access into the machin too
