Hi,

I got 5 IP's for my server...
1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (example) and domain is server.com (example)

I think the server-IP (= IP 1) should not be used/shared to anyone to try and hide the server-IP to the peeps with bad mojo...
So therefore I setup the nameservers for the server (ns1.server.com = IP 2 and ns2.server.com = IP 3)

Since I want to move my accounts from a shared server (as reseller) to my new server, I want exactly the same setup: me = reseller with my own domain & dns, and all my users are under this reseller-account)
So I want to create a reseller account on the new server with the nameservers... And come to the conclusion that I probably won't use the server-dns...

So what I want is:
- own ip for me as reseller/user for my site
- own ip for 1 user under the reseller-account.
- nameservers for reseller-account

How should I setup the IP's ?

Thanx,

Merv

It still depends on how you want to do it. For example you can use the admin reseller and user levels as your own or actually create a new reseller level and in turn create a user level for yourself as well with a seperate login.

Depending on which way you want to do it, the methods of IP setup will probalby vary.

But basically, after adding your IP's in the admin level, assign them to your reseller whoever that might be. Assign you user level an IP address (might require an independent user level from the admin user level). Then from the reseller assing 2 of your IP's to a nameserver for your reseller, and then you can setup another IP that all users will share.

No matter what way you do it, it's not going to help you much since all of your IP's are most likely on the same C class, and all IP's still point to your server so it won't be any security benefit as far as I can see.
