I haven’t offered hosting as a service for a bit over a decade, but I’m dipping my toes back into the pool. I’m trying to do this right, being completely new to the DA platform.

It looks like this is fairly straightforward:
  1. Install CentOS 8 on a fresh VM in my cluster. Separated DMZ, 1:1 NAT
  2. Install DA
  3. Run the CloudLinux installation
  4. Install and configure imunify360
  5. I’m not sure about LiteSpeed but it looks like this can be integrated seamlessly later
  6. Client-exec on top to handle users
  7. I’ll probably point a second routable IP address at the DA server in the short run; paying for a second license just to cluster DNS before I have clients seems excessive
Overkill? Am I overlooking something? Is CentOS 7 still preferred? Anything else I should seriously consider?

Thanks folks. I just know it’s easier to start right than correct problems later.

You can easily use Centos 8. It's already supported for a long time by DA and working great, so you don't need to install Centos 7.
I don't use VM's but:
7.) You don't need a second license just to cluster DNS. You can also use a VM or cheap VPS and use Directslave. This is a free tool which is developped to use a cluster DNS without the need of another DA license.
It's free and the developper is on this forum too. He recently got a new site.
