Hi all,
I am in the process of looking for a new webmail application to replace squirrelmail on our server. Currently my hosting customers are complaining about a couple things, and one big one is webmail.

Some of the complaints are:

* It slows down the more email you have in the system, and when mailbox's hit 50mb or so they time out trying to load squirrelmail.

* File attachment size is 2mb. I saw the new squirrelmail and this is now 8mb.

* Import / export possabilities of an address book from outlook

* Overall functions of webmail need improvement, and speed.

Does anyone have suggestions to look at ? Of course free open source projects are always good, but i am not opposed to purchausing a commercial solution either, as long as it is NOT too crazy priced.

thanks,
Rob

I know you don't like squirrelmail, but there is a squirrelmail that has a pretty nice front end and comes with some plug-ins already installed.

nutsmail.com

If it's just a change, this may work for ya. There are a bunch more plugins that will allow you to do most of what you are wanting to accomplish.

oh dont get me wrong, the squirrel is nice... and i actuall own the plugins from nutsmail as well... but the 2mb limit is a pisser for some of my users, also the speed of the system when you get to a 50mb email file size on IMAP is not too nice either.

I will stay with the squirrel, but can someone guide me through updating it to the newest version ?

Rob

The easiest plug and play environment that I found was just running the webmail update script. It's in the directadmin/upgrade (I think) directory.
