Newbie Help!

Hi,

I'm trying to connect my domain to Shopify - Shopify tells me to do the following:


you can tell them that:

  • you want your root domain (your A record) to point to Shopify's IP address, which is 23.227.38.65
  • you want your subdomains (your CNAME records) to point to shops.myshopify.com.
However, when i try to access CNAME in my DNS Management, there's no CNAME listed. I've tried adding a CNAME line (Adding Type:CNAME, Name:Shady.net., TTL:14400, Value:shops.shopify.com.) It won't let me add it.

If someone could explain what to do, i'd really appreciate it. I've raised a ticket, but it;s taking more that 24 hours to get a reply. The last reply was 'we'll get in done and get back to you quickly' - that was 10 hours ago...

with who? just curious

Also in the panel at the bottom, there should be a Help Icon
which links to a Site helper

I'd searched google, but didn't think to look for direct admin - my website is hosted by a company called complete web hosting, so i guess i got confused!?! I raised a ticket with them.

Like i said, i'm nearly 100% clueless, but thanks again!

Well, let us know if that helps. Is the hosting plan you are on a Managed plan or a standard Shared plan.
