(Obvious Question) Why no instant license activation?

I know this has probably been asked before, and I HAVE used the search option but found no answer.

Why does DA not activate licenses instantly? I know Mark does a great job getting them done, but in this day and age, customers expect that the VPS they purchase has a license instantly. Technicality's cant be that bad.

My billing system (WHMCS) not only instantly sets up accounts, but uses MaxMind fraud verification, and then scores it, thus only activating it if its a genuine order.

I'm sure instant licenses could be made available, at least to those of us who have partnerships in place with DA (as you've already 'vetted' that we're not a fraudulent operation).

I really want a staff reply here, but I fear I wont get one...
 
Im sure there is a valid reason. If its not ready...just wait longer!
 
I hope there is :/ Even if there was a license ordering API it would make it a whole heap easier!
 
I'd love a response from JBMC/DA Support on this issue.

I recently emailed to offering our company's support creating something that does this.

With services such as VPS.NET, it only takes a matter of seconds to setup a new machine with DA on it, but getting a license can take hours/days.
 
@floyd There's an obvious answer to that. You have to specify the IP/hostname in the license when you purchase it.
 
Sorry I keep forgetting I have an ability that many do not have. I can login to my account change my ip at any time once I have the license.

I only buy lifetime licenses and I usually have a few lying around when I set up a new server or vps. I just login and assign the ip and start installing.

So forgive me because its not so obvious to me because of different circumstances.
 
I've spoken to DA Support about this and been told that all that's needed is to upgrade to a Pre-paid account.

Once you've done this, you then have access to their API for creating/editing licenses.
 
That must be what they did for me since I never owe them money once the license is purchased since I only buy lifetime licenses. Now I understand. Thanks.
