I've never updated DirectAdmin through CustomBuild. Have you tried running the update from the DirectAdmin control panel interface? Does it work?

You may need to ask DirectAdmin Support.

If it's working with the control panel I don't try it from the shell, so I really don't know. You may want to contact DirectAdmin Support.
