problem with ftp account

Log in as admin

Navigate to

Admin Tools (heading) > File Editor (not the one along the top)

Choose /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/edit_files.txt,

Click Show File button

At the end of this file, add

/usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/proftpd.vhosts.conf=user=root&group=root&permission=644&secure=yes
/usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/proftpd.vhosts.conf=user=root&group=root&permission=644&secure=yes

Then Click Save......

You can now edit them within DA under Admin Tools (header) > File Editor
