Problems implementing InstallSSL on website with DA

I seem to have a problem implementing InstallSSL with DirectAdmin and getting it to work on my website.

I have implemented the SSL with my server through da i.e. installing the mjmnet.us cert (in da's ssl area) and the ComodoSecurityServicesCA.crt (in my CA root directory area) but I seem to always see this problem:

- when I click on a https:// type address, a popup window comes up saying that the cert is valid but the website doesn't match the registered name. Clicking on the "view certificate" properties on the window shows that the cert is registered to a "*.comodo.net"

- If I click on the "yes" button/option, the relevant website will be displayed without any problems; click on the yellow security "lock" on the bottom right hand corner shows me that it is registered to my domain i.e. "www.mjmnet.us"!

You can see/test the problem at https://www.mjmnet.us/cert_test.htm.

I don't understand why this is happening and the disparity in certs registration names. I know for sure that the CSR I created through da was directed to www.mjmnet.us.

I even tried installing another root cert ... GTECyberTrustRoot.crt (that was provided by the SSL company) in the CA Root instead of the ComodoSecurityServicesCA.crt... it didn't make any difference.

Unless I take care of this problem, I can't start reselling the SSL certs (I am a new comodo SSL reseller) as installing the certs would be one of the services I provide as a business.

Please help, I have been battling this for days. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Do you mean InstantSSL (rather than InstallSSL?) and also.... i assume its a chained certificate?

I don't really have full access to my server as I am a webhost reseller and I don't think I can get access to the httpd.conf file... well lets put it this way... I don't know how to access it. If you can show me where/how to access it with SSH, I'll do it.

Plus the instructions asked me to restart apache... can I do it if I don't have full access to the server i.e. being a web host reseller?
Is there something I can do within the direct admin control panel?

You will need to ask your host to do it for you (based on those instructions)

mfjm, are you still having problems?

Looking at your example it appears as if you are.

We're successfully selling Comodo certs, and both we and our clients are successfully installing them.

What OS are you using?

If you'd like contact me directly and I'll help you work this out.
