Question about Anti-virus and server resources

Hi everyone... I am trying to decide on which mail server anti-virus to use. I see a lot of talk about ClamAV and I have heard that it is a pretty big resource hog... do you experience this? Of course, I suppose we shouldn't expect any similar product to be completely resource friendly.... but do you have any suggestions about alternatives... or just comments about your preference and why.

We've been using ClamAV for several months now, no problem. We run the latest version. It was easy to setup using the how-to.

Server loads nor memory have ever been a problem.

Thanks for the input. What CPU speed and RAM amount is typical for your setup?

Currently we run Intel P4's (3Ghz) and 1 Gig Ram on our servers.

even on a celeron with 512 ram I havent seen it make a major difference.

Didn't saw any increase using clamav. Not one mb great antivirus scanner
