Question about "STATUS" under IP Management

Not sure where to post this question.

I am adding a shopping cart to a site where a reseller was assigned to an IP with a status of "SHARED". This results in not allowing me to config. SSL as I do not own the address.

The issue is what steps do I need to take to change from a SHARED to a OWNED status? I can not delete the IP due to the SHARED status, so do I need to delete the entire reseller?

My main concern is that this is a working site, and I need to minimize the downtime so as not disrupt their web and mail traffic.

Also, the reseller has one domain.

Any help or pointer to a document would be appreciated.

First, you need an unassigned IP#.

As admin, you assign that to the reseller.

Then as reseller you change the user to that IP#, and enable SSL.

Thanks.

Do I need to unassign it at the admin level or the reseller level? The manual tells me that I can not unassign an IP that is not free.

I know that you need to set the fixed status when you define a reseller, but I can not find any option to change the current reseller's status from shared to fixed on the MODIFY RESELLER screens!

Thanks

Issue.

Adding a user requires entering a new domain. I have a domain to which I need to add SSL. I tried to add a user with my current domain, but it did not work.

I guess I can buy a new domain and then add it as a user and allocate it to the IP.

Thanks

You can't have two users with the same domain on DA.

Why can't you just change the IP# for the current user?

You can backup a domain from one user, move it to the other user (I would do this logged into the shell), then delete the domain from one user and restore it to the new user.

Note that DA won't let you reuse a domain just because you've deleted it; you have to delete the DNS for it (as admin) as well.
