When putting into the resolv.conf the nameserver, can it be the directadmin one itself? Can it contain many nameserver in this list?

When putting into the resolv.conf the nameserver,

This does not have anything to do with rDNS.

can it be the directadmin one itself?

It can if you want to deal with the security of running a caching nameserver which has been advised again over and over and over in this forum. Search caching nameserver for more details.

Can it contain many nameserver in this list?

I believe it can contain up to 3.

Thanks for your rapid response.

So that means, the easiest is to get a workable DNS IP from parent our the server to deal with it?

I didn't have this problem until lately. So probably the DNS don't work anymore. Checking...

That's a very old list, and if you use any nameservers on that list you should try them first.

We use OpenDNS. Our options would be to use our upstream providers caching servers (unless you own Level 3 or similar, you have an upstream no matter how big you are), to use OpenDNS, to use our own, or to use some on that list.

Don't forget if you're going to use OpenDNS you MUST join, log in to your dashboard, and make sure both content filtering and proxy are turned OFF; they should not be on when you use OpenDNS on your server(s).
