Re: Forbidden to access my own website - Forbidden error???

Well..
This is what happened to me...

On Jan 13/06 I made a small amendment to my index.html file...did a preview and a file save as index.html

Now, using two (2 ) browsers I am receiving a forbidden error

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at khlm1.brastart.com Port 80

My html files are set at 644 which allows views and modifications

My public_html set at 755

Can someone please help me with what possibly I can do to get my
site to come up in any browser..

I changed absolutely no set permissions?????

Thanks to anyone who can assist..

Kenneth

You can start by not being secretive; if we can't try it ourselves we can't tell you anything you haven't told us.

Except to point out that the 403 Forbidden error means what it says it does, so there's got to be someting wrong with the file, or perhaps another file, or perhaps a path.

Do you own brastart.com, or is khlm1.brastart.com a domain name someone else set up for you?

If the former, did you set up the subdomain using the DirectAdmin control panel?

I'm sticking by my original statement as to what it looks like based on the error message, and I highly recommend you contact your hosting provider.

Re: Forbidden access..

Hi Jeff

Thanks again for your prompt answer...

Yes, it was Brastart.com that created the sub-domain for khlm1.brastart.com.

I just received user id and password for control panel access to build and edit my pages..

Thanks
Kenneth
