Hi there,

One of our clients has the problem that the recieve 1 e-mail
serveral times (like 20 time's). And not only from outside but also
if the forward a message from 1 of there on e-mail adresses on our server to another. (same domain).

Does anybody knows what this could be?

they don't have delete messages after downloading checked in their mail client? check their account in webmail after they complain, if that same message is still there that is most likely the probelm.

tell them to check the delete message after download, they will stop recieving double emails if that is in fact the problem.

vandal, I can't conceive of a client that will download the same email twice, even if it leaves email on the server, unless you specifically tell it to do so.

I know that none of the email clients I've ever used do.

However, anything M$ is of course a different style :p .

Not that I have a better answer.

But I'm betting that turning on "delete mail from server" if it's not already on won't do anything.

I look forward to the next response.

i know the default mac email client does, and will download any message on the server as many times as it can till deleted.

old outlook express used to do this, outlook doesn't anymore. but again, this is normally the solution to this complaint, at least i found.

Well, the strang thing is that we have ofcourse several user who have no problems with leaving e-mail several day's on the server.

Our 'problem' client has ms outlook and only has the problem with most of the socalled 'internaly' mail so from a [email protected] to [email protected]. But also some e-mail from outside.

I fixed it by turning it of to leave e-mail on the server. But 1 account of them has to leave e-mail on the server so it is still a problem.

But it's strange because other clients don't have that same problem. Should it be a problem? Because I think it should be possible to leave e-mail on the server.

Thx for al your reply's

It should be possible to leave email on the server with both Outlook and with Outlook express.

Is it possible the client is trying to download mail with more than one mail account? Once mail is downloaded from the server with one account it can still be downloaded from another.
