we have a website with name mydomainserver.com. Is there any possibility to add some settings in our DNS server through which if we just type mydom.com it should be redirected to mydomainserver.com

Only if you own both domains.

And you'd do it by setting up an alias in DirectAdmin; DirectAdmin will then create the necessary DNS entries.

Unless of course you're not using DirectAdmin, in which case you're asking in the wrong forum.
