register_globals with suPHP

Hello,

We are currently planning to change the settings for the register_globals from on to off. Some of our clients will get problems after this change.

Is there any way to work around this setting?
I have tried .htaccess and custom php.ini for a single domain, but it seems to no work.

Any suggestions?
