I did a horrible thing.

I updated with yum, BEFORE excluding some important stuff. (see here)

My box is now cpu hogged. Mysql and apache are draining my resources.

Is there a way to solve this? reinstalling DA? will I lose my databases and files?

Your links just take you in a circles ;)

Try removing unecassary applications. You can also move mysql to a remote server as well as optimize MySQL.

I went with the install.sh option.

However, seems like the reinstall didn't erase previous files, just overwrote them, did it??

I hope this solves the problem.

Personally I don't see how reinstalling DirectAdmin is going to help unless you completely start from scratch with a new Operating System...

The install.sh will overwrite the files. There is no uninstall script for DirectAdmin. You will have to remove it and all remnants manually and then start over using setup.sh (if you completely want to wipe everything + data)

I would highly suggest trying to undo what yum did, but that's just me ;)

At the end .. I had to reinstall RH9 and directamin..

don´t play with yum without setting the exclusions for directamin!!!
