Hello,

I’m seeking clarification regarding database user password management in DirectAdmin.

Under User Level → Account Management → Databases, I’m unable to find an option to reset database user passwords. The same applies under Database Users.

This makes it difficult to resolve database connection errors when credentials need to be updated.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Whether DirectAdmin provides a UI-based method to reset existing database user passwords
  2. If this behavior is intentional by design
  3. What the recommended approach is for resetting database user passwords

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Its there. If you are under Account Manager - Databases, then you have a list of your databases. On the right side of each database, there is a button "Manage", click on it. On the following page scroll down to the part "User access", then here you have again a list of your databases and again on the right side a button "Manage" (and "Privileges" and "Revoke Access"). Click "Manage" again, then on the new site you can set a new PW for the DB. (Valid for the Evo skin)

Maybe as a user, certainly not for admins, surely.
Where did you get that idea? For sure it works for everybody, Admins, resellers and users.
We're still using it by default as admins because things are way easier to find and change.
We almost only use Evo when changing multiple DNS records as they can be editted to be changed and not need to be replaced like in Enhanced.

We received the ticket regarding this request and as I found the default password of "da_admin" MySQL user was not working. So, either it was changed or maybe even "da_admin" MySQL user was removed. Cannot say more, because we did not get any response after my reply. Also maybe the issue is already fixed.

So, I think everyone can stop guessing what is wrong, because no enough information had been provided here ;)
