Run my own dynamic DNS?

I run DirectAdmin on my main web server housed in a datacenter. I also run a server here at my house that I use as a testbed for new applications. My home connection is DSL through Verizon, so my IP changes every time I connect or my DSL modem is unplugged for some reason. This rarely happens but it's often enough to be a hassle.

I'd like to set up a DNS record for testing.bluenoteweb.com to point to the server here at the house. I know that I can do that within DA, but I would need to update the DNS record every time my IP changes. This is a pain in the neck especially when I'm not home and can't check the new IP for myself. Is there a way to automatically update the DNS records when the IP changes? This would make my life quite a bit easier.

The obvious solution is to use one of the commercial dynamic DNS services, but I'd much rather have a subdomain of my main site.

How would I accomplish this?

I'd do it with one of the commercial or free services out there. Much easier than developing the whole thing yourself.
