Hi all...

Here is the thing ...

We have a server running DA, hosted by Oxyd (our server and bandwith provider).
Actual box dns configuration is following :
server name : da8167.oxyd.net
ns1 : da8167.oxyd.net
ns2 : ns3.oxyd.net
On our client side, i have today a domain : cardiff.fr
which has following dns :
ns1 : ns1.oxyd.net
ns2 : ns2.oxyd.net
and contains following A zone
ns1 A 195.13.58.167
ns2 A 195.13.58.108

all our clients use actually ns1.cardiff.fr and ns2.cardiff.fr as their ns for their domains. These had been glued by our previous registrar.

What i would like to do and am not sure with the how-to to follow is the following :
Have the DA box declared as follows :
mars.cardiff.fr (this is the server name)
ns1 : ns1.cardiff.fr 195.13.58.167 (is this only possible ??)
ns2 : ns2.cardiff.fr 195.13.58.108 (is this only possible ??)
if not can i for example use lets say ns3 or ns4 for it's ns ???

I have a secondary dns service and secondary mx service option taken at oxyd... will this help in any sort ???
how do i do this, being sure nothing gets broken in doing this.

Thks for your help

You should probably ask your provider as they probably have experience specific to how they do things, especially if you want to use their slave DNS.

But if you own cardiff.fr, then you need to log into your registrar account and create those two nameservers at the IP#s you mentioned, then use them with DA.
