hello.
when i change my panel from cpanel to direct admin and use it to creat and send mail...my mail are sending on gmail and yahoo spam box and its a big problem for me.
i try it in 3 server with 3 different ip and rang ip but all of them are spam

similar issue...

When I send email from exim it goes to the spam box of various mail boxes, for example autoresponders and forwarders, but when the exact same emai is sent through smtp or webmail it goes into the inbox.
Through extensive reading I have yet to find any solution! But there seems to be an issue as there are various posts re: yahoo, gmail, aol, etc.
PS, Jeff set up my server, My ips are completely clear, etc.etc.
Paul

Any way you look at it exim is delivering the mail if its coming from your server in any way.

what, where. why???

is it an issue with the header, the formatting etc, etc, that is kind of what would be great to find out, I have even sent a letter to exim to see if something in the config file can be edited to stop this from happening.

None of my mail ever went to spam with GMail/Yahoo with the default configuration. Have you tried setting up an spf record? Looking at the headers of the mail that I get to my GMail account, that apparently plays a role in their grading of the mail that goes through their filters.

If the default install is used then SPF is already created.

And when you ask the yahoo postmaster why they put your email in the spambox, what do they answer?

Jeff

Jeff I have gone around and around with Yahoo too and they won't answer the question. They answer the question as though I am the Yahoo customer using a Yahoo account and I would to know how to keep mail out of my Yahoo spambox.

I seem to remember a conversation with Yahoo but I may be mistaken. Have you checked the DirectAdmin Knowledgebase article?

Jeff

I have not made the changes for spf.

The problem I was having was in my email signature. Every time I used www.newwebsite.com it went into Spam folder. If I used newwebsite.com instead it went into the regular Inbox. Just removing the www. made the difference. Yahoo would not tell me why and just told me to click on Not Spam button so that it would go to my Inbox instead as though the problem was with me receiving mail instead of sending. But this was over a year ago. My point was Yahoo is not very forthcoming when it comes to helping senders identify a problem.

Evidently, at that time, they didn't like links in emails and they'd consider any email with a link to be spam. I wonder if they still do that. Anyone with a yahoo address care to check?

Jeff

I just created a new yahoo account and the links work now.

My point I was making is that Yahoo is less than forthcoming in helping to determine why some mail is considered spam.
