Hi,
I have an old server, which has 2 hard-disks of 200gb each, the drives are almost full and the server being old has it's fair share of problems.

I purchased a new server from the same company, they have installed the operating system and directadmin, but they do not transfer backups, the new server does not support IDE, so they asked me to transfer data myself.

Now i am very much a novice and probably will remain one, but what do i need to backup? only the domain data or anything else as well?

Which directories/partitions do i need to backup for partitions? since the drive is almost full, i don't think one command to backup all will do.

please advice on how to go about it. Then what should be my next step after the backup, like how to transfer the data server to server?

Thanks
Best Regards
Amit

Hello,

What data do you want to transfer? OS settings? Software setting? User accounts? Or just store all backups on your new server?

Everything

Basically i want everything from the old server to go to the new one, the settings, the files, the configs etc.
