service monitor and spamd

Does anyone have spamd working the service monitor?

The service monitor picks up the pids for spamd, but it can not be stopped or started. DA reports an error. Is there a log I can look at to troubleshoot this? I don't see anything in the logs I have looked at.

Spamd is not a service. (Try it: "service spamd") Spamd is called from Exim. Exim makes sure its running and shuts it down when exim dies. So you won't be able to restart it via the admin panel. Since it has a pid, you can see it, as you said, but you won't be able to restart/start/stop it. So you'll want to set it "spamd=NO", so dataskq won't try to start it.
