I am a bit confused on how to setup the name server IP's in DA. Here is our situation...

We currently have a cpanel server, which we are migrating from to our in house DA server. On the DA server we have 5 IP's. They are as follows;

eth0 = 75.99.56.xx3 - main server IP for apache
eth0:0 = 75.99.56.xx4 - ns1
eth0:1 = 75.99.56.xx5 - ns2

We logged in as admin to the DA panel, and setup a reseller account, which will be our main account that we have our customers domains under. It will be jvs-hosting.com. What I need to know is how to add the ip's for ns1 and ns2 so that all domains added will resolve to ns1.jvs-hosting and ns2.jvs-hosting. I am fully aware that we have to change the IP's for ns1 and ns2 at our registar.

Please advise. :D

Re-opened this thread to answer, since at least it's in the right subforum:

Once you set up the IP#s in your OS's configuration (eth0:x) then they're already added to the server.

Simply set them up within each reseller as Virtual Nameservers; DirectAdmin won't care about their IP#s but will use them.

Of course you won't have nameserver redundancy unless you slave somewhere else.

You can set up automatic slaving in DirectAdmin using the Multi-Server Option, or generically, as a sysadmin, by using the Master2Slave DNS Replicator discussed in these forums.

Or hire us or someone else to slave DNS for you (we use our Master2Slave DNS replicator, which we had written specifically for our Slave DNS service).
