Share IP for Reseller with an Owned IP?

Hi All,

I think I made a mistake. I changed a user to a reseller and assigned an IP to them. They 'own' the IP, not the admin. Now I can't share the IP and create users under them (the IP drop down box is blank in the 'Create User' section).

I know I *could* delete the reseller, to clear the IP and then mark it shared... but there is a fully functioning (commercial) website behind it and I don't feel that's really an option.

Is there a way out of this situation, or did I just offend the ASPCA when I screwed the pooch?

Thanks you in advance for help,

Ansel

You can remove the ip in admin level from the reseller as long as there are no users assigned to it first. If there are users assigned to the ip then you will have to temporarily change them to the server shared ip and then remove the ip from the reseller.

Oh snap. I got one to work. So.. I'm encouraged to try the other.

I'm just a little nervous because that one's the money maker...

Hmmm... but how do I get rid of the 'Forbidden' message when someone goes to one of the shared reseller IP's:

http://72.233.14.233/

Should I CNAME point it to the reseller's domain? What's the best thing to do here?

Hi Peter,

The directory you described it not there. But there's this one:

/domains/default/

It doesn't seem to be working, though, because both domains still have the 'forbidden' error.

Any way I could tie the IP to that directory?

Thanks,

Ansel
