I build my website in Dreamweaver 8.
Put everything in folders.
When I upload the folders to /public_html/, I just keep seeing the Hosting-site.
This is also an index file.
When I remove this site and replace with mine, the site doesn't seem to see anything at all.
I'm a rookie, I know, but what am I doing wrong?

1. Is this domain on a DirectAdmin server?
2. What is the domain name?

there are a few variables,
like did he change the dns, does Dreamweaver upload a .htm file as the stock one supplied with a DA account is .html, html will override any other file and be loaded first.
Plus the question floyd asked would be goo to know :)

Yes, it's a domain on DirectAdmin server, I suppose.
When I entered my IP, I can get access to my account, my email-management and advanced features on a DirectAdmin site.
My domain name is: detoneelvrienden.

your site is still the default page for new account, as if nothing is there yet.
be sure you uploaded to the correct folder.
You also say that you uploaded folders, does your files also include an index.html file that is IN the public_html folder

Toneelvrienden.jpg

This is my folder Public_html.
My files are in the folder Website.
There is a folder Index, with a index.html file.
My complete site is in the folder Website.
The index file, you see at the attachment is the hostingsite.
When I rename this file, I get a 403 error (forbidden).

what we are saying is this, your website is at http://detoneelvrienden.nl/Website/
it should be just http://detoneelvrienden.nl as a Normal place, you need to move all the files located in the "Website" folder to the same place as 400.shtml, 401.shtml.....index.html and logo.jpg.
If you have an index.html file in your stuff it will overwrite the existing one, but no worries it's not needed, if you would like to save the original index file, just re name it to something like index.orig.html
dont worry, we ALL had to start at the beginning....:)

It still doesn't explain why the default index.html file that we see in the screen shot does not show up.

Something is very wrong. Perhaps you need to listen to the error.

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Could be something really is wrong with the permissions.

I think it is the wrong public_html folder. I think the screen shot shows the public_html folder of another domain. We are not getting enough information to know anything for sure.

On the homepage of directAdmin I choose files:
The adress becomes: http://77.75.126.151:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER.
Folders: domains/imap/mail/public_html (with an arrow on it).
Files: .bash_logout/.bash_profile/.bashrc/.clipboard.txt/.shadow.
When I load public_html, I am directed to the next adress:
http://77.75.126.151:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER/domains/detoneelvrienden.nl/public_html.
Folders: Image (I put it here (pics of my website))/cgi-bin.
Files: 400.shtml/401.shtml/403.shtml/404.shtml/500.shtml/logo.jpg
Files I uploaded: DE TONEELVRIENDEN.def.doc/Index.html/Untitled-1.html/UntitledFrame-1.html/UntitledFrame-3.html
The original index file is removed.

When I load domains I am derected to http://77.75.126.151:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER/domains.
The Folders are only up a Level and detoneelvrienden.nl
When I choose detoneelvrienden.nl I am derected to http://77.75.126.151:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER/domains/detoneelvrienden.nl
Folders: Up a Level/.htpasswd/logs/private_html/public_ftp/public_html (with no arrow)/stats.
When I choose public_html I become on http://77.75.126.151:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER/domains/detoneelvrienden.nl/public_html with all the folders and files I mentioned above.

If I opens the Index.html files he opens my page. Why not on the internet?
I still got the 403 page in Explorer: Forbidden. You don't have permission to access / on this server. www.detoneelvrienden.nl.

I copied mine index with the original hosting, refreshed explorer and voila, there we are...
Thnx for the help.
I just have to check my site, I put everything in folders, in stead of files. Some framesets do have the same name...

Just uploaded the folders/files, and guess what..
It works...!!
Thanks for all your helps!!

I believe one of your main problems is that you believe Index.html can be one of the default pages and in fact it is index.html instead. They are not the same.
