Spam on hostname!

Hi,

A couple a days ago we (and our customers) started to receive spam emails on the SERVERS HOSTNAME.

The mails are sent to random names on @server.hostname.com

Does anyone how this is even possible to send mail on hostname? And better: How can we disable this?

Hello,

Yes it is possible to receive [email protected].

You can stop it by either removing "hostname.server.com" from /etc/virtual/domains

or

in /etc/virtual/hostname.server.com/aliases put
"*: :fail:" or "*: :blackhole:" without the "

no you dont need any " " , i just put it to show what is between the quotes is what needs to be put

I'm sorry to tell you it didn't workout. Spam keeps coming on the hostname.

Hiya,

you can always take out the localuser: section from the directors configuration. That would also stop the admin accounts getting mail though.. or just take out $primary_hostname in the localuser: part.
