SpamAssassin Installation

I followed all instructions on the page http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=36

CentOS 3.4
DirectAdmin 1.23.0

But I see none of the headers in mails indicating the mails are going through SpamAssassin.

Any tips?

I got it working by removing this line the instructions said to include in the exim conf:

# {exists{/home/${lookup{$domain}lsearch{/etc/virtual/domainowners}{$value}}/.spamassassin/user_prefs}} \

Clearly spamassassin preference files for users don't exist since spamassassin wasn't installed...

Once installed, you need to go into DA and enabled spamassassin for your account...

I'm the only user of the server, I'm not logging in as the other 36 just to duplicate the same preferences 36 times

Domain-level control was added as a feature because there was a lot of calling for it.

What you've done is enabled SpamAssassin for all the domains you host.

What will you do when one of the users doesn't want it?

I use DirectAdmin because it's easier than adding accounts, editing zone files, editing the apache config to install SSL certs, updating domain pointers, etc by hand.

I know what you mean. I had a client recently buy DA simply to configure his sever; he doesn't use it for that box at all.

Dan this also fixed my problem of not getting Spamd mail headers! It seems indeed: the users created before the installation op spamassassin do not work (no headers)

Does this setting have other implications? I supposed this line is used for 'something'?! Thanks.

What version of exim.conf are you running (if you're not sure, post the top five lines here).
