spamassassin ownership and permissions

Hi all,

I am getting a lot of permission denied error messages from spamd (e.g. spamd[13016]: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file failed), and was wondering what the correct permissions and ownership for the .spamassassin folder should be?

They currently look like: drwxrwx--x 2 frostcrane mail
However I read somewhere that it should be user "mail" and group "user"?

Is there a simple fix for this?

OS is FreeBSD.

Thanks,

Ok, I have restarted spamd and the permission denied errors seem to have vanished. But exim is still discarding e-mail, even when the addresses are in the whitelist. From what I can tell, it only seems to happen when both the from and to domains are local to my server. The relevant lines in exim_mainlog look like:

2006-08-01 11:55:15 1G7jTV-0007Xb-Eo => discarded <[email protected]> R=domain_filter

This is crazy, when domain.com has *@orginalsendersdomain.com in the spamassassin whitelist. There are NO filters set up in DA whatsoever, so it is obviously spamassassin that is the problem.

This is becoming a major issue. Any thoughts (apart from turning SA off) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
