spamd restart output / translation?
Trying to determine if spamd is what's preventing mail delivery.
spamd restart will display:
[14445] info: spamd: server started on port 783/tcp (running version 3.1.1)
[14445] info: spamd: server pid: 14445
[14445] info: spamd: server successfully spawned child process, pid 16129
[14445] info: spamd: server successfully spawned child process, pid 16161
[14445] info: prefork: child states: II
Other instances output the messages below which make me wonder what could be using port 783 other than another instance of spamd. Logs indicate it's processing mail.
[22739] error: spamd: could not create INET socket on 127.0.0.1:783: Address already in use
spamd: could not create INET socket on 127.0.0.1:783: Address already in use
[root@sdf scripts]# spamd stop
[5890] error: spamd: could not create INET socket on 127.0.0.1:783: Address already in use
spamd: could not create INET socket on 127.0.0.1:783: Address already in use
Help is appreciated.
