Is there any way to create forwarders with special characters in the Forwarder Name using the control panel? One reason this is becoming important to me is that some spammers are using them in made up to addresses that it would be nice to :blackhole:.

Same special character issue on Destination Address fields. Which means we can't set up a forward to + address now, unless we parse the + username before entering it.

Why are you receiving spam for nonexistent users?

Are you using a catchall?

Catchalls are a very bad idea on today's internet.

Depends on the situation. Two very real world examples...

A business that does not want to bounce or blackhole email from clients/customers, no matter how badly they mess up the email address.

A domain where, for many years, unique aliases have been given out to most senders; making it easy when one is improperly shared, to identify the culprit and blackhole the address.

To which I'll add a third:

Domain admins who don't care how much spam their catchall mailbox will get in a dictionary attack :( .
