Stop/Start/Restart services

Hi,

I've had a look to see if this has been answered already and couldn't find it. I read the API documentation and I can't see anywhere to Stop/Start/Restart services. Is this possible? If it is how? and if it isn't is there a reason?

The reason is I am considering writing an iPhone app to control DA and obviously being able to restart services remotely would be very useful.
