subdom's url's

Hi, maybe i can get the answer how to solve the problem.

We have made a sub domain for www.this.com
The name of this subdom is "also"

We expect we can read the url on the net as http://also.this.com

however, we can only see it when we type : http://www.this.com/also

We host dedicated, FreeBSD and Apache.

When we hosted by a reseller, it was possible. I think it was Plesk or so we used.?? Or doesnt it depend on the DA you use ?

Is there any solution to solve this ??

Without your real domain information it's impossible to test or to tell what might be wrong.

Hallo, thanks for trying to help us.
It concerns the domain www.pagina.hu
the subdir we made is poppenhuis.pagina.hu
As well as www.hongarije.ws subdir = juhasz,
so in all our flash url is : http://juhasz.hongarije.ws
But no show if we choose the domain from any of the other domains, referring to these subdoms in their buttons.

Hope this is understndable ?

the subdir we made is poppenhuis.pagina.hu

When I try www.pagina.hu/poppenhuis, I get a notice that the directory isn't found. I can't translate the message I get when I look for poppenhuis.pagina.hu, but if you set it up as a subdomain in DirectAdmin I have to wonder why the directory doesn't exist.

As well as www.hongarije.ws subdir = juhasz,
so in all our flash url is : http://juhasz.hongarije.ws

This subdomain works if I call it as http://juhasz.hongarije.ws/ and if I call it as http://www.hongarije.ws/juhasz/.

I've added a wildcard in the DNS settings.
After propagation it took some time, but all works fine now.
there are no files as yet, just the index.
