System Backup Stops after 170MB

After running a system backup and having it remotely transferred to my FTP, all of the users home dirs are only 179MB each... the tar is corrupted. There are no limits on the ftp server as I just uploaded a 500MB file from my home pc with no problems. Any ideas of what might be going on ?

Maybe your disk is full? Doesn't Directadmin log anything? Perhaps in it's log dir or /var/log/messages?
