does anyone know how i can change the system email address (the base email address) for my site? I can't find any options through direct admin.
 
I do not think you can. The system email account is tide to your primary domain.
If I am incorrect, someone feel free to correct me if so.

If your talking about the user name for each account then this is correct, it's created whith the username and can't be changed, a feature I don't like but have grown to live with it. If you want something different then create a new e-mail address and then create a forward to the new one from the old (default).

If your talking about the admin e-mail then it can be changed in the account settings.
 
when the domain is set up one email address is created. you cannot delete it in the email management. my site has been targeted and being spammed terribly so i want to change or remove this email address but cant. perhaps it is called the catch all ?
i have attached a screen shot of the message that i get.
any help much appreciated.

That has nothing to do with DirectAdmin but its the way Linux works. However you can blackhole the account so any email just gets deleted.
 
Having delved further it appears that the spam is coming from blue.oak addresses. such as this

BCJrJfvsEaEM <[email protected]>


any ideas what i can do to stop this?
 
Or you can block it using SpamBlocker, built into DirectAdmin.

Add the hostname to /etc/virtual/bad_sender_hosts or the domain (right side of the @ sign) to /etc/virtual/blacklist_domains. Then make sure that the recipient address domain is in /etc/virtual/use_rbl_domains, or that /etc/virtual/use_rbl_domains is a link to /etc/virtual/domains.
