they fix imapd yet?

Dovecot is not beta, I'm very pleased with it's performance.
What will be "in testing" would be the process of including it at install time.
The post-install conversion is stable, but we haven't done the install-time setup yet (where vm-pop3d/imapd are not installed at all).

still recieving same emails twice, triple... and more

I'm new to this, but I'm still recieving multiple emails when I check with webmail and after that with mail.app (email client)

Is there a way to fix this? I've searched the board, but couldn't find any fix
or is this miracle dovecot thing gonna help ?

Yea, I had that problem too. What seems to happen is if you check the email with imap (squirrelmail uses that) then for some odd reason the uid is changed. Then what happens is the pop (Outlook for example) doesn't know you already downloaded the email, so it does again. This is really annoying, especially if you are using something like a Blackbarry.

Yea, Dovecot seems to have addresses this, and doesn't do that (at least not for me).

The way to avoid the duplicates without converting is to have everything either on pop or imap, but not both.

That is not 100% correct, I posted a patch to vm-pop3d that would not modify the uid even when read with Imap. If you do a little search on this board you will find it. I do agree that Dovecot is the way to go though, it is stable fast and uses the maildir format (which I prefer).
