Hello,

When we access the domain management tools in my directadmin account. What do we do to move my domain to a different service provider?

With our existing domain we have the options to 'suspend' or 'delete'. Does one of these release the registration of that domain
from W3 Media so that we can re-register that domain at another service provider?

Is this even the correct place to perform this task?

What steps should we use to free our domain?

Thanks for any enlightenment

You should ask for your domains authorization code (from w3media) and use that code to transfer your domain to your new provider by requesting a domaintransfer at your new provider. That's all.

Web link or Office Call?

What information do we require to get that from W3 Media?

Is there a web form to fill out, or do we call your office?

Well, calling MY office isn't going to get you very far, unless you want us to transfer your domein ;)

You should contact w3media for that code. Then use your new providers website or controlpanel to transfer the domain.

No, it's not.

Did you get your domain name and your webhosting both from W3 Media? If so you'll need to contact them. Deleting or suspending your domain likely won't even notify your provider and they may still continue to bill you. You need to check your terms of service with your provider, and contact them.

If you post your domain name then I or others will be able to tll you if your domain is registered in your own name or in their domain name.

If you bought your domain separately from your webhosting then you might need to contact both providers depending on what you want to do.

You've posed your thread in the wrong subforum; I've moved it as it's a User issue.

Jeff
